TITLE [School of Mathematics Online Colloquium] The existence problem of K?hler-Einstein Metrics on Fano Varieties and Sasaki-Einstein Metrics on 5-dimensional Smale Manifolds
ABSTRACT K-stability is one of the most important concept in modern algebraic and complex geometry that was introduced to characterize the existence of K?hler-Einstein metrics on Fano manifolds. It is defined by signs of Donaldson-Futaki invariant of all test configurations, one parameter deformation spaces over a given variety or manifold. Now it settles in terms of stability threshold, delta-invariant which is intrinsic and asymptotic invariant. Moreover, K?hler-Einstein metrics on certain Fano varieties can be lifted to Sasaki-Einstein metrics on Sasakian manifolds that is odd-dimensional analogue K?hler manifolds. We discuss on recent practical progresses of the existence problem of K?hler-Einstein metric on Fano varieties by K-stability of them and also the existence problem of Sasaki-Einstein metric on 5-dimensional Smale manifolds via K-stability of weighted hypersurface log del Pezzo surfaces.
